WASHINGTON, D.C. (Rueters) -- The
Wright Flyer, long believed to be the
first aeroplane to fly with a pilot
aboard, has just been sold on e-Bay
for $2,795.
<
Meg Whitman, e-Bay's CEO, agrees
the winning bid was "pathetically low"
but added that "nobody seemed the least
bit interested in this worthless piece
of junk."
<
The Wright Flyer had taken to the air
on Dec. 17, 1903, in Kitty Hawk, N.C., and
supposedly was the first powered, heavier
-than-air machine to achieve controlled,
sustained flight with a pilot aboard.

<
However, it was just revealed that
Orville and Wilbur Wright lied like
a rug about being the first to fly
and a chap named Gustave Whitehead,
a German who had emigrated to America
-- actually, to Connecticut -- was the
first pioneer aviator.
<
"Another Smithsonian con job," said
Father Guido Sarducci, an Italian priest
who was feeding the pigeons outside the
Smithsonian while awaiting his trial for
embezzling millions from the Vatican.
<
"What a revolting development this
is," President Barack Obama emphatically
stated on Meet the Press.
<
Smithsonian officials said that they
plan to fill the space vacated by the
Wright Flyer with an exhibit of the
petrified human bones discovered by one
Ed Conrad between anthracite veins,
proving once and for all that Charles
Darwin was 35 cents sort of a dollar.
<
This is a neat picture of Orville (left) and Wilbur Wright
on the day they conned the Smithsonian -- and the whole
freakin' world.

I've seen no comments on this, but I've got serious doubts about this
report. Can anyone comment? Also the following writing which casts doubt
on the Wrights claim to be the first. We get doubts about who killed JFK
and even books on theories about the death of Lincoln, and I put this
idea on a par with those. I have read the history and technical
difficulties in the development of the Wright Flier and I'm 100%
convinced that no one had the technical knowledge to successfully fly
prior to the Wrights. In fact, the latter years were spent in
successfully defending their patents against interlopers.
